Air Travel

Boston’s Logan Airport (BOS)
The closest airport to the conference site and usually has the most direct flights and flight options. Drive time to Bolton is about an hour, depending on traffic.

TF Green Airport (PVD) in Providence/Warwick, Rhode Island
Smaller and more manageable airport than Logan with decent service. Drive time to Bolton is approximately 75 minutes.

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in Manchester, NH
Like PVD, smaller and more manageable than Logan. Drive time to Bolton is approximately 60 minutes.

Ground Transportation

All three airports have easy interstate highway connections to the Bolton area. Once you get on Interstate-495, take Exit 27 for The International.

Logan: Car rentals are relatively expensive at Logan, approximately $100/day. Cab fare is also about $90 (the published flat rate to Boxboro), plus tolls, tips and airport access fees. Shared van service to “Western Massachusetts”–as the Logan Web site calls the Bolton area–is available for about $50 for one person, or $60 for two, before tip; services include Knights, Worcester, and Zebra (Ultimate). More information here.

TF Green Airport: Rental car rate here is about $60/day. No taxi service to the conference site. Shared van service through Knight’s; see Logan ground transportation section for details.

(When leaving the airport, take I-95 north through Providence to I-495 north to the Bolton exit. The Providence local signage will direct you to take I-295, which is a loop road around Providence that adds 10 miles to your trip. Providence traffic on I-95 is not that bad except sometimes at rush hour. WPRO (630 AM) has frequent traffic reports.)

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport: Rental car rate here is $30-$50/day. No taxi or shuttle service to the conference site, but you may arrange a limo pickup from several firms near the conference site for about $80: C&L Air Limo; TWC Limousine Service.

(Recommended driving route is via US Rte. 3, which avoids a ten-mile congested section on I-495 that is under construction. From the airport, take Brown Ave North (Route 3A) to State Route 101 West a left turn off 3A. Stay in the right lane on 101. In ½ mile take the exit for Everett Turnpike / US Route 3 South toward Nashua. Take Route 3 to I-495 South to the Bolton exit.)

  • Local Directions

Local directions can be found at The International Web site, but we have a few additions. If you do not have GPS, we recommend printing this map of the area at a close up level.

From I-495, take Exit 27 and follow signs to Bolton Center. (If you’re traveling northbound, you will take a right at the end of the ramp. If you’re traveling southbound, you will take a left at the end of the ramp.)

Travel for 1.7 miles through Bolton Center. Take a left onto Wilder Road, which is a shallow left turn:

At this point you'll see the first red sign that points you toward The International. (If you miss Wilder Road, the next left (about 1000 feet) onto Sampson Road will take you back to Wilder Road.)

Wilder Road will fork after about a half mile in a "K" intersection. Bear left and then go straight onto Ballville Road, following the red International sign. The International entrance will be on your right in about a half mile.
